I'd rather have my Oakland Outdoor Pro Shop back honestly.  Bass Pro junk is, in my opinion, turning much like Target, with a buncha crap made in China.  I try to buy local stuff first, then USA stuff, even if I have to drive a ways for it or pay a bit more,....just seems worth it to me so I can continue to bitch about the low quality plastic crap.  Not to mention impact on local stores as others have already mentioned.  Small business is awful hard.

Not real sure I'm in favor of this, but then again, hey, whatever.

Well, as cool as that sounds, I have NO idea how they plan on accomodating a BPS at 87&85.  I've lived in that area most of my life, and my father still does.  As congested as it is now, I can only imagine what it will be like in two years.   :smt009  Why not somewhere like Gilroy??

What you and Art said.  I doubt I'll ever visit for that reason.

Iused to think highly of them, but to be honest, I have two gift cards for there, and Ihaven't found the items I am looking to buy so I get kind of well ticked off that they are mare turing into a Walmart of Outdoor gear.  I have wanted a Weber 22.5 inch SMokey mountain, they are a weber dealer, but they only carry the 18" which is small.  Called and talked to them,  not going to carry it.  Crab traps(promar 102's), not on the website, so I called them.  Yeah the Manteca store carries them, but $15.00 over local guys and charged for shipping.  Sorry Hi's is closer cheaper (hard to believe on that), and no charge on shipping.

Young Coed sales staff, okay cute to look at some times.  But when you go in there looking for the Shimano Trevela, how many of them have a clue as to what you are talking about?  In fairness the locals have them beat in customer service.

Yeah they have cool stuff, no doubt about it, but tracker boats IMHO opinion would be a lot more attractive if they didn't have Mercury only on them, give me a power option (I hate Merc's, I wouldn't give a MERC dog house space).

Just my $.02
