good luck with that gate..

past 2 times I waited til 730+ , once on a weekday, then again on a weekend..

rangerNob doesn't seem to give a hoot either..so its ok to hit the snooze button.

good luck and I'll be looking for your report.

I love the proximity and price of Muir,

dave

I gotta get some wheels  :smt012.  I might join the Hobies at Horseshoe Cove.

Wes- here's the address for the Pelican Inn, which is right at the turnoff for
Muir:

10 Pacific Way
Muir Beach‎ CA‎ 94965
United States

Turn onto Pacific Way from Highway 1, and go straight until it deadends at the parking lot. It's a decent walk to the beach, over sand. Hope you've got beach wheels. If not you can borrow mine.

I think it is about the same distance to the salmon area about 2-3 miles from either horseshoe or Muir. They bumped the wind forecast to 11-16kt but I bet before 11 it will be ok. If it gets bad give us a holler and we can tow you back to Muir.

I just left a message with the park maintenance folks asking when the gate might be opened tomorrow. I kinda doubt I'll get a call back, but it was worth a shot.

I gave it several tries early season but the fish were more offshore. Last year around this time I hooked up a WSB while drifting near the mouth of the cove. It towed me around for half hour before cutting me off upon hitting some kelp. Now I fish with thicker leaders there just in case it happens again. Lots of squid apparently off the Marin coast so some fish should be somewhere up there right?
Anyone fished Limontour before?  So far from any harbor...   I am thinking about hitting it early Sunday, hopefully before it blows up.
