for how much = threshold question

150 = who gives a chit how it paddles!

750 = can I sell this next season to fund an upgrade?

My first yak was an old Drifter and it sucked. Of course, it didn't matter to me because it was all I knew and it helped me get OTW. After going through about 10 more yaks, I can now something to compare it to. Although, mine was an older model so maybe the newer ones are better. But my main complaints are that my Drifter paddled like a tank, it couldn't track well and it'd turn sideways in surf, the tankwell was too small, and it was a wet ride--sitting in 2" of water all day leads to chronic crotchrot.
But it's reall stable and has a big weight capacity.

dude, for that price, who cares how it paddles!  bit of wet ride is all i'd say.

No seriously, if you score it for two bills, you can probably install some quick and easy gear, and flip it next season.  IMO, not a boat you want to keep longterm if you are going "pro," know what i'm sayin'?  But it'll do for a year, or keep as a buddy boat (for your least fav buddy lol).

For that price buy it for sure.  You can flip it for more later. I had one and agree with all that was said above. Super stable (great for beginner confidence) but wet ride, and paddles like a pig.
