Just a question for you locals...Any chance for stripers in the suds, walking distance from the Albion campground?  Thinking about bringing my surf gear too, this weekend.

Stripers do show up along our coast up here, but it's a very rare event.  I've heard of them in the Eel River!  I've also heard of people catching them off South Beach at Crescent City.  Like I said though, not common at all.  Perch are fat and plentiful though.   :smt001

Maybe no stripers, but fishing from shore can be relaxing AND rewarding! It can actually produce more and bigger fish than kayak/boat fishing. Especially when it comes to cabs & lings [shhhh, don't tell anybody though].

Don't listen, Sin has no knowledge of big fish.  Just barely legal ones   :smt003 :smt044

Very rare... last I heard was back during the big "el nino"... tuna were sighted off of ten mile beach north of Fort Bragg that year, and I think I remember a guy caught a figgin Marlin up near Seattle or some such nonsense.  I remember surf fishing of mendo head... wading in with only shorts on, and not being cold.
Never trust a man that doesnt like to fish...
