Except the rainy windy afternoon when we first got there the salmon bite wasn't happening while we were up at SC. A few were caught kinda deep at places like the Hat, the Old Man, Tolo Banks, etc but the kayak reachable area off the Whistle/B & B or bread & butter would maybe be a couple fish per day for some of the pb's that launched early. There were huge lines of boats waiting to be launched or landed by the tractors. One of our neighbors in the campground had to wait 3 1/2 hours to be pulled out and didn't get off the water until dark. Of course us yaks slid right in & out when we wanted.  :smt002

The first day we got there it was windy & raining so we chilled out and fished a couple hours late afternoon but the drift was fast. 2nd day was pretty nice but most of the time the drift was too fast. Yesterday/thursday the drift was perfect and bottom fish were biting good but no pac hali love except one lucky pb that caught a 70lber out by the Whistle and a couple caught way up at Gorda. A lot of the salmon that were caught throughout the area were shakers or silvers. The second day Jonesz caught a big silver which he released boatside in the water and the first day had a couple fish on that came unbuttoned after big runs. No pink at all for me. Thanks for driving Jonesz!  :thumleft:  jim

And all this time, I thought you guys were going up there to target pacbutts w/fresh salmon bellies. (-: Because they love a good salmon belly & herring combo snack.
Thanks for the report & info Jim.
