It's a great workout and everyone on that stretch of river is pretty cool.

Upstream is another story. The guides upstream are major jerkoffs to kayak fisherman.

Yes, I heard when shad fishing  :smt012.

last season had one guide run into my buddys yak twice! the guide and I had a little chat when he got off the water.......then the ranger was NICE enough to give him a ride to the county jail......

Definitely gotta watch your back out there. I got pulled off anchor twice by floaters recently. Also early in the shad run back at the ramp after fishing, a guide on the upper accused me of following him to his hot spot, claiming I was crowding him, causing him to move and not get good numbers. I assured him that I wasn't following him and that I really don't care if he thinks I am. Now he gives me dirty look every time I see him.

I might make it out Monday though.

We fall victim of this game drifter boaters/guides play called huddling. :angry7:

Def: Huddling
Drift boaters/guides having no consideration ,crowding kayakers and pushing off our current spot because they feel they are entitled and own the river.

Best boaters quote of last year: "You guys need to move because this is how I make a living"

Last year Striper_Slayer and I were hit by boats, anchor lines ran over, consistently follwed and crowded ( like within a couple feet from edge of our boat and almost touching during the drift sway... Nice huh)  Combat fishing at its finest!

Here's to 2012  :beer2

Here are a couple pictures of last years MONKEY'S ON OUR BACKS who followed us all day and constantly crowded us..

They won't like it if it happens to me. It does not matter if their boat is bigger.

There's one way to resolve this. Get a big enough group of us. Power in numbers! Stay tuned for a new thread with details.

Not worth the stress fighting over fishing.  The AR is pretty long and the fish have to travel up the whole thing.   If you fish below the J st bridge to the mouth of the AR other boats are few and far between.   No need for river rage.  Everybody seemed pretty cool last year on the Howe and Watt stretches as it was primarily kayaks, small aluminums/flat bottoms, paddle boards, and canoes.

Anyone going to be able to make it out tomorrow morning? Plan on being OTW before 7.
