Whats up guys. I am headed to Monterey this friday for a work event and I figured I should stay an extra day and try to kayak fish while I am out there. I have never fished in that area before. Any advice on where to launch, what is biting, where to grab a beer afterwards would be most helpful. Thank you so much

launch from the beach at Monterey Bay Kayaks (MBK) and troll around for halibut.  If you head out towards the red can to the left, sand dabs and rockfish.

Yes, it is best to fish around MBK as it is safer and more protected from the winds and swells.

What up fishshadow. That was one hell of a bass you got at the dam. I went out there last weekend for a limit of trout on the troll as well of catching a bald eagle on video snatching a trout. Lets float soon.

The kelp beds north west 4 or 500 yards from mbk can hold rf but they weren't yesterday. If you head N toward the hotel there is lots of sand that holds halibut for sure.:smt003 Good luck on your trip and it can get very windy there later in the day so keep an eye on it.

I think all the fish have been hiding in the MLPA's  The F&G tends to show no mercy/warnings for that offense.
