I'd like to be able to stand while fishing for bass and stripers.  I'm sure its way easier to work top water baits and jerk baits.  I'm gonna work on that this summer.

I am working on a mod right now jeff.

Do any of those boys ever paddle the salt?  I'd leave the lawn chair at home unless I'm inland.

Good question. For salt the theory is the seat could drop down another 4" for a more stable platform. Not 100% sure how the new Hobie one raises and lowers.

I agree with you, in rough conditions I want my butt as low in the boat as I can get it.

My concern is not just swell, although the higher cog doesn't look friendly.  I'm not a fan at all of the higher profile becasue they catch more wind, causing weird drift angles and horrible tracking when paddling. I've had two boats that had a higher profile, fishing was more work than enjoyment when the wind came up.

I do like the design for an inland boat though, on my OK I'd sit up on the front of the tankwell to flip and pitch. If I was looking for a fw specific boat I'd definitely consider it.  Actually I really like the coosa, if I were looking for a bassin boat I'd probably go that route.  But if I needed one boat to cover fresh and salt, a boat with a seat wouldn't be a consideration.

I'm going to go against the grain here but I like the concept. The new hobbie PA12 seat took the Jackson idea and made it a lot better.

The Pro Angler is a tank so I suspect stability would not be an issue. Raise the seat in my Adventure 2 inches and it would become a log, fresh or salt.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

I think it'd be cool for freshwater fishing. So long as you aren't paddling 5+ miles, or else you'll need a extra-long paddle and your shoulders will be extra-sore. I'm trying to figure out how to mount a seat frame on my T140 Slidetrax, so I can rock a cushioned plush bassboat seat!

Here is a video from Hobie on how the new PA 12 seat works:
http://www.hobiecat.com/videos/1314/
I have a PA 14 and the seat has always been plenty comfortable on it for me.  The seat on the PA 12 IMHO just has more to break and go wrong.  If I want a super comfortable chair I will just stay home in my recliner.   :smt003
I have never stood in my PA 14 while on the water, never felt the need to.

Looks like a kayak for people who hate kayaks.

Although I'm sure the sea kayakers say the same about SOT's so it's all relative...
