on my way out of moss, a pb tried to wake me, laughing as they went by.

then transmitted "he he he he" on the radio. can you believe it?

plenty nice people out there too tho. Actually the DFG zodiac guys were pretty nice even.

It's enough to challenge a person's belief that most folks are nice........ :smt012

Great post again!  I'm dying to get back up there, will probably stay on life support for awhile but seems like after rock fish opens I'll make time for the trip.

I've never camped there, any scoop on the local camping Abking?

Thanks,
Pete

Camping at Shelter Cove is a bit cattle-penish...  It's a grassy field with lots of close together spots, no privacy, and only a few trees, but there are showers, and it's about a 10 second walk to the cleaning table and access to the Cove.  Pull up TerraServer or something and zoom down in on Shelter Cove--go to the south end of the runway and you'll see the campground, general store, cleaning table at the small marina, and the road down into the Cove.  Rockfish won't open there until 7/1, and it's at least 10 miles north to the 40-10 line where it'll open on 5/1.  Ab diving and rock-picking right at the Cove is very good, catching fish off the rocks is not that hard, and boating even with 6-8' north swells is definitely do-able with wind up to 15 knots.  I'm thinking maybe we should do a NCKA tourney/campout--next year?  Other than camping right at the Cove there are some great, remote campgrounds within 30 minutes up on the mountain that are warmer, wilder, more private...  Also, there are numerous vacation rentals, and some are really nice--working your butt off all day in the water is nicely rewarded by having a bed, kitchen, bathroom, and view!

CP--thanks for the compliment--it was a focus of mine to get good photos yesterday since my being sick had let Pescadore down.  I was having way too much fun!

Eric, You didn't let me down at all.  I'm stoked that you got out there, and that we made a connection for future adventures.  I have a family and know what it's like when everyone get the flu at the same time....it sucks!

Keep calling - We'll hook up. I'm especially interested in finding a trophy ab up there!!  Hey, next Monday Rockfish season opens up there, doesn't it?  Hint, hint.

Hi, Abking. I like your idea about camping and fishing at that area. It will be great fun for the group. I have not been that far north, but definitely interested. Plus fishing and Ab diving are good. It would be hard for me to refuse this kind of trips. Look forward to it.

Maybe consider to do it this year.  :smt002
