If I see the belly is loaded, I give the fish to the seagulls or fur bags circling the cleaning station.

I don't care how many worms are in the fish, there's no way I'm gonna kill it and then just throw it away...

Just the way I am.

Sincerely,

Jim

and that is why Jim eats ab nad's!

How is it considered throwing it away if I am feeding the local sea life? It's not like I am throwing it into the trash to go into a landfill.

True, doesn't say you have to eat it.

If you're concerned about parasites, you should stop eating wild seafood........especially the pacific rockfishes.  They all have worms and flukes.  It's part of the ecology.  Even when you can't see them directly, they are still there in a microscopic form.

We like eating wild fish because they have great taste and nutritional qualities (omega 3s), but wild also means they're not cattle:  no drugs to get rid of parasites.

I freeze my ceviche fish and cook my fresh fish.  I've been eating them for a long time and never gotten any worms.  Fish are way more healthy to eat than cows, worms and all.   Especially if you're like me, dealing with high blood pressure issues.

I think when you compare our fresh caught fish to many of the commercially processed foods out there, the parasites are a non issue.  At least we know what they are as opposed to so many of the chemical additives in prepared foods.  Good sanitation and cooking processes seem to take of them and if I have eaten any, they must not have had an impact on the taste or quality of the food.  That's more than can be said for prepared and fast food.  What's really in a Mickey D's fillet of fish sandwich? What are all of those ingredients, only listed as a combination of letters? I'll continue to take my chances with the fresh wild catch, including Cabezon.

Just my opinion, but if I fed a fish that I caught and killed to a furbag or a seagull, I would consider it throwing it away and wasting the fish. Once again, just my opinion.

Sorry for the threadjack Darius.

Sincerely,

Jim

ps...and yes EWB, I have eaten ab nads and they were tasty with a slightly nutty flavor.  :smt003 :smt005

Hummmm.... Remember that tasty halibut?  :smt044  I've found them in every Hali i've caught!  Now, if I see a TON of worms on the thing when I hook em', i'll send em back or put them out of their misery...  But dont worry about seeing a few here and there, just dont eat them raw without freezing and you will be FINE!  :smt002

+1.

btw, you're the last person that I would have thought to post something like this - no offense or anything...  :smt003

I can almost guarantee any restraurant meal will have more disgusting things in them.  Not to mention fast food.

I'll take worms over pubes, lips and peckers any day
