Sorry for the late reply, but I have to agree with Craig on this one 100%. If it's not too late, I think it's better to return the Cuda for a Humminbird. I've got 2 yaks (T15 and Tarpon140) with 2 different transducer mounts (thru scupper and foam/noodle).

Of the 2, I prefer the thru scupper; I get better/accurate readings and the storage space inside the Prowler is clutter-free :D Best of all I never had my FF go crazy on me, whereas the foam block transducer have given me problems with inaccurate readings.

As for what model, that depends on how much you;re willing to spend. I have a 385ci, and I love that thing :) It's basically what Craig is suggesting but with color screen. I must have already done 50 saltwater yak trips with this FF, and have put it to test : flipping the yak otw and enduring couple surf crashes. It still works like a charm!  :smt003

Dude, I cant wait to fish with you again!

Check it out. This is the best way to mount a non-Humminbird transducer IMHO. All shoot trough installations eventually fail and you don't get water temp.
