Spent just short of 4 hours in my entry level  OK Scrambler seat , was ready to get out of my kayak and stay out for a good while . My buns were killing me , what are some better seats or options for more padding ?  Am I expecting too much or is 4 hours just going to be rough no matter what ?

To me comfort is #1 (OK well safety is 1)...4 hrs isn't very long. So upgrade! I went with the set up below. 6-8 hrs isn't a problem (butt wise). I get some cramps in my legs and knees.

At the very least try the pad with the stock seat.

and added one of these

Dan - I had the same experience with the stock OK seat. Swapped out to the surf to summit elite that Eric linked to in his message. Have been using it for 5 years for up to 8 hours in the saddle with no pain.  It's held up well and is still in good shape.  Haven't tried any other models but sure would recommend this one.

Dan, I bought this one for my wife's OK, and scored some big WAF points. :smt044
We went out for about 6 hours OTW and she could have gone longer. :smt001

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

I also own a GTS Elite seat and it treats me pretty good. I don't think there is a kayak seat out there that doesn't give you numb buns by the end of an eight hour day.
