Here is what I would do...
1. donate the stuff you aren't using to the Pay It Foreward
2. Get the A Hulls to write a letter about the donation (good luck  :smt044)
3. Show your wife the letter and tell her you need to replace some of the stuff you donated to such a great cause
4. Take the donation as a tax deduction
5. Buy really good stuff so you will be motivated to take better care of it  :smt044 :smt044

It's a win win win. BTW congrats on the PAC butt. Iwas really happy when you called it in. I won't say anything about the paddle.  :smt044

Good luck with the Baidarka bro. Lots of previous owners of that rod have had some issues of the guides falling off for no reason. Perhaps some manufacturing defects.
