Dale Wildflower what can I say it's a trippy place and their baked goods excell but I balk at recommending them they can have quite an attitude and they think it's OK. It doesn't really bother me but I know more than a few that say screw that place. We call them the Scone Nazi's

"NO SCONES FOR YOU"

One day I was butte fishing at Doran alone and the wind kicked up big time it was screaming out the Jaws. I had a 2 mile paddle I figured shit hr non stop hard  paddle to get back OK I'm up for it 5 mins into it snap broken paddle right by the blade try to fix keeps coming off and I lose more ground. OK I can hold the blade in and still paddle hr later I'm like 1/2 way in snap there goes the other side, lucky I'm tall I was able to hold both blades in and still paddle but it must have looked pretty funny.

I'm burnt cold I hit Wildflower and all they have are Lemon Scones I ask do you have any others. WHAT YOU DON"T LIKE LEMONS I'm beat so I say sure I like lemon just not in scones can'trember what they said but I felt just like George.

But for WAF take her there then walk across the street and get some relaxing http://www.osmosis.com/

Stop by Hog Island Oyster Co and do some oyster tasting then take the scenic drive to bodega. They have live crab there also. I agree with Mikes recommendations. One is so close to Doran you might be able to...  :smt044 Bodega is known for chowder so check it out. Sonoma Cutrer recently opened their public tasting room so if you are in that area, check it out. Dog friendly too.

Thanks all the weekend tips. The trip was last weekend and was great. Hotel was great, food was good as well. Needless to say we came home with hog island goodies, cheese from cow girl, memberships to two wineries and 2 cases of vino. Oh and some Karma points.....we found a puppy on the side of the road and spent and hr looking for the owners (no luck) tried the sheriff (no luck) then a local vet that took the pup in.

All in all great to sleep in and not have to pack the entire car with "kid stuff" for an overnighter

+1 on the Duck Club at the Bodega bay Lodge, rooms are not as nice as the inn at the tides, but can't beat the view at the lodge, and a tad bit more romantic... make sure to get the top floor!!! or bargin for a sweet...

may not possible this weekend....  :smt009

Don't eat at the restaurant across from the Tides inn... YUK!!! don't know about the restaurant at the Tides Inn...

and for quick on the go, The Lucas wharf has Great fish and chips and chowder,  trust me, only one order of the fish and chips for 2... it's enough!! and Delicious, cheap too

and I hate to say it... but the Sonoma Mission Inn is a Great place, usually not my thing, but I enjoyed it...

but unless you want to plunk down over $200 clams dinner for 2, don't eat at the restaurant at the Mission!!!

it's pretty good though!!!
