Went to Union Valley today with my Granpa in his boat for some Makinaw Action. Hit the water about 10:30.  Started pulling 6'' rainbow trout bombers at 60 feet, right below the kokanee.  Had 2 by 11:00, one about 3lbs, and one about 5lbs.  Decided since we both have two rod stamps to troll for some kokanee.  We just nocked em. troll about 30 feet bam, had 8 kokanee after a little while by pulling seps watermelon sidekick dodger with a crystal basin black and white beaded um thing :smt003. dont know how to describe it, has a small blade in front of it.  Trolled over by the power house for some maks and hit up three over there on the crystal basin things behind silver slingblades, these maks were only about 18''.  after some planter rainbow action on the seps sidekicks and brown grubs we decided to go in at about 5:30. we trolled for rainbows on the way back right of the dock hook into the last rainbow, about 20 feet behind the rainbow we see this swirl coming right for it. Bam huge mak just swallows it. it takes off and i play it. about 10 feet from the boat he spits out the fish and just stares at it i begin to reel in and he hits the fish again.  this went on 4 times (maks are slow learners apparently) Last time he wants it and we ended up bringing him up to the net.  He was never even hooked!  weighed it for a total of 10lbs 4oz.

All in all prety dang good day
Mike

I think it's as smart as the Ling Cod  :smt003  Thanks for the detailed report Mike.
