I went out that morning to meet Allen and Patrick out at the whistle buoy, and I was taking on water all weekend. Had to bail every half hour or so. The wind was starting to kick up pretty good a few sheep were starting to show and then my radio finally died... I'm thinking, don't push your luck Jonesz, so I tell Allen I'm heading in. All I could think was trying to bail while waves are breaking. Not good! So I headed in, and 2/3 of the way in something compeled me to stop and try a few drops. First drop mondo hits. Fights like hell, I think I've got a big ling on then I get color, RED, lots of red!!! I'm thinking holy crap that's a biggun. The gamey said it was the biggest one he's seen all weekend and most of last season too. He told me a sure fire way to identify those ify ones. Run your finger on their jaw bone. If it feels rough one way and slick the other you've got a Vermy. If it's slick both ways send it back. He said most of the fish he sees that size turn out to be yellow eyes... I also managed a nice cabby and big black right after too. Sometimes you just gotta follow your instincts...

Yeah...sonny was sounding sort of worried when u weren't comeing back on the radio...I heard "out past the bouy not responding"...had me worried for a minute...than u came back on the radio...alls good!!!
