Fantastic Read.  Great trip.  That lake is on fire from now until memorial day, then it gets a little tougher with the crowds...  Stripers at San Antonio sounds fun.

Man... it's been a long while since we've heard a report from you. Hope all has been going well. Sounds like you had a hell of a time with the white bass.

Keep it coming...

Freddie

Sounds like it was a ton of fun. If only I lived back down in SLO. I'd be hitting the arms of San Antonio and Nacimiento in the springtime. I've read of hundred fish days...

nice report taylor - i don't recommend eating too many fish from naci as the mercury levels are off the charts

things are looking up for stripers at san antonio - a buddy of mine hit an 11lb 8 oz in harris creek this week so they should be heating up.

bring a dip net to san antonio - DO NOT BRING A CAST NET AS YOU CAN GET A $450 FINE... EVEN FOR POSESSION
use your dip net near the main marina - there are thousands of shad in there - use a split shot about 18" up and let it swim - nice size smallies and the stripers off a yak are a blast - soak your striper meat in saltwater for a couple hours to brine them and they make some tasty fillets

I am going out at the butt crack of dawn on moms day to try to get a few

Great report man! I'd love to get into a hot bite w/light stuff like spinners & castmasters. Let us know how they taste, because I'll keep some if I ever catch em!
Yeah Andy you're probably confusing the size vs bag limit. No size limit on stripers in San Antone. And I've seen people w/8-10" stripers on the stringer before.
Thinking about San Antone for Memorial Wknd...but it gets kinda rowdy.

The fishing slows down after 10:30-11 at san antonio - get out there early and rip gills then let the crazies get stupid - memorial wknd is especially a crazy time at naci and san antonio
