Alot of drama has unfolded over the past few seasons.  We as fisherman have been under assault from so many different angels that I think its left us all a bit jaded.....actually alot jaded. My own personal opinion on the matter is that participating....or even just keeping up on the issues surrounding fisheries and their management... has forced us into a position in which we begin to analyze and define ourselves. This can be great for personal growth and understanding but have detrimental effects when we start applying it to how we view others. The fact of the matter remains, politics of fishing are only getting started and likely to get alot worse....I refuse to lay down and take it from THEM so I will continue to stay abreast of the issues, support thos in the trenches and participate as I can but I'm putting my sword away (well maybe not completely, I'll continue to post my opinion but in a rational and civil manner) and focusing on the reason why I do what I do....my roots....having fun.

For the first time in what seems like forever.....the weather is cooperating, salmon are a go (for the most part), abalone season is open, lings and rockies are open to spear and shore, halibut and stripers are about to go off.....and dare I say it, bass are spawning  :smt003

In the wise words of SCAllen.....I'm gonna go fish....now.

I bet if you to ask all these jerks who are shutting down our oceans to fishing, they would tell you that they ARE angels.
