I live in the east bay and want to test ride different kayaks this weekend. CAn anyone suggest some local kayak outfitters where can get the best best value for my buck? I'm want a kayak that I'm comfortable with but I'm fiending for a outback mirage. Care to offer any pros and cons on it...or how bout the hobie adventure??

Call sunrise mountain sports in Livermore. Tell them u wanna sign up for the demo ride on Saturday. They have a huge selection of kayaks you can demo at lake del valle. I think it's $25 for like 3 hours and you can paddle as many kayaks as you like. They have a good selection of hobies, ocean, and wilderness.... Plus they sell the demo fleet at the end of the season at pretty good prices...

I highly recommend that you show up at the Half Moon Bay Crab derby....not only will you be able to test paddle different kayaks, but you can also see how NCKA'ers pimp-out their kayaks  :smt002

Right on Mooch. I hope to be there too...hopefully with my own pimped out one. I'm trying not to chomp at the bit but at the same time, I'm sure that you can understand my urgency.

Hey Troller,
Good looking out. When I get my sea legs/butt again and money I'll look into the Hobies however, I've already pull da trigger and purchased a Malibu XF.
