Sometimes you just admire the fish.  A few years ago, I am in my float tube in the main lake at Shadow Cliffs.  Only thing I caught was a Thunder trout of good size on a dropshot worm.  Had 5#-10# bass swimming near my fins and they were ignoring everything I had.

WWIdo? I'd leave em alone. Especially if they already balked at my best offerings. Or at the very least, I'd bend barbs.

Jeff,

I've been in the same situation a log time ago at White Pines. A real slow presentation works and even downsizing to crappie jig will work too.

The water must be warming up quick to see them this early in the season. Now imagine how big their momma must be and where is she hiding? I've seen 8 pounders cruising in that small lake as well as had one try and eat a trout I caught and was was bringing it in. Poor little trout nearly had a heart attack seeing that bass coming after it with its mouth wide open. It never did take teh trout just made practice runs at it since it knew something wasn't quite right.

Sure miss having the luxury of just walking to that little lake and enjoying the peace and quiet.

...I'd fly line a whole lively nightcrawler and pitch it in front of 'em...that will surely get 'em :smt045
