Camping

Tomales Bay boat-in: Nestled along the western shore of Tomales Bay are 20 dispersed boat-in campsites. With a kayak, canoe or small powerboat, you can launch at Miller County Park on Highway 1 and head across the bay. Permit required: (415) 663-8054, nps.gov/pore.

what were you trolling for?  perch? halis?  Did you do any bait fishing for leopards?

what is the "permit" that is required?

Non-kayak memory: Last time I was at Tomales Bay we had a picnic at that picnic area on the west side of the bay.  I was the last to leave, and as I was leaving surprised a beauty of a gray fox that thought he had all the leftover crumbs to himself.  Didn't have my camera but it would have been awesome.   We had a standoff for about 15 minutes.  He was on a little trail leading to the crumb nirvana around the picnic tables.   I was standing in his way, but he couldn't resist the smell and kept trying to come back down the trail and sneak around - crawling as low as he could go - but it did him no good, and every time he looked up seemed to say "DANG he is still there!"  Finally I left him to munch his leftovers in the grass.   We are lucky to live in this great state that still has some wildlife.  Agreed that Tomales is as pristine as they come.

I was trolling for resident Hali if they're still around  :smt003

The permit is needed for camping on those beaches across from Miller Parks.
