Oncorhynchus tshawytscha and kisutch

Domenic and I got soaked today and had a blast.  We saw 9 live fish and 3 carcasses including Kings and Silvers.  Good Times on the streams.

Hard to say - maybe they represent how a bird was dismantling the meat...

Looks like a lot of fun, Bl'ab.  I hear that it can stink something fierce (like the stench of success)  Any hint of that stinky odor?

Those are lamprey scars.

I was wondering if lampreys could've made those 3 marks on that fish.
Weird buggers--while diving for crawdads on the Navarro about 10 yrs ago, I saw 4 lampreys sucking the life out of a spent steelhead (although, I guess it could've been a spawned-out salmon). It was pretty creepy.

I'll PM you, Dave.  I'm much more strict with the location of spawning grounds than I am with rockfishing hotspots!
