Holy Smokes!!! I sent my drysuit in for servicing at the Kokatat Factory.  I needed new seals.  But while they were at it, they leak tested the suit and fixed ANY AND ALL possible leaks.  Actually, I didn't think I had any leaks, but they identified 100's of possible pin pricks and fixed them all.  They even reinforced the seals in problem areas like the socks.  I kid you not ... 100's, and I really didn't think I had any leaks.  I had previously found a couple of pin pricks that I fixed myself, but that was it, after 2.5 years of service.  I had this done on the pro staff discount (free!!!), but out of curiosity I asked about the normal cost of such a service.  The answer was $15-25, plus shipping.  What?!?  Just do it.  It's worth the price of admission.

New neck seals is $60 and new wrist seals is $29.  I seem to blow out my neck seal once a year, but this was the first time I replaced the wrists seals.  They weren't blown out yet, but they had the weathered, dried out look that was begging for replacement.  And yes, I 303 them regularly.

Should we do this yearly or only when suspected a leak?

Like I said, I didn't think I had a leak.  My point is that for the relatively cheap price of $15-25, plus shipping, it seems to be cheap insurance.

Thanks for posting this!   Thats a pretty awesome deal.  I also dont "think" I have any leaks in my tempest pants..  but Ive almost had hooks and what not poke them.

side kokatat question.. do you wash them?  The tag says they are washable but so far Ive just hosed them off.   Worn maybe 12 - 15 times.

I just give them a fresh water rinse. If there is some stuck on stuff I just scrub them with a wet rag.

I rinse after every use.  Once or twice a year, I give it a good cleaning using an approved Goretex cleaner since my drysuit is Goretex.  I don't have a favorite cleaner.

BTW, I sent my drysuit off and it was a bit stinky.  After the repair work, it came back without the stink.  They must have washed it too!!!

They replaced your seal,  repaired your leaks, removed the "stinky" odor  :smt044  and all of these services from them for FREE.  You must have good "connections" there! :smt003

That is pretty cool Allen.  I've always wondered, how do people get sponsored?  BTW, I'm not looking to get sponsored (I'm not nearly good enough of a fisherman and I don't fish often enough), I've just always wondered how these relationships develop.

I've always wondered, how do people get sponsored?

Step 1 ... start your own kayak fishing website.   :smt002

Yep, Kokotat is the shit... I just got their top-of-the-line whitewater drysuit... the GMER... I need to paddle as much as possible this winter on the biggest water I can find as I'm going to kayak the whole Grand Canyon in September 2010.
