"09" was a decent year for me
I was able to meet most of my goals

1. Kayaked more and canceled my long range trip
2. Due to the Bonny Dune Fire I added 1 more event over the "18" schedule
3. Expanded the locations and type of fish targeted in the F.W. series
4. Added more prizes thanks to many generous sponsors
5. kept participation Free thanks to Fisherman's Warehouse
6. Brought more people to this sport and site (13 in "08" / 17 in "09")
7. Beat "08" attendance record of 43 at the Alameda event with a total of 57 anglers
8. Lost over 20lbs. went from 256 to 228 but gained back to 240
9. fell short of the goal on 8 of 10 AOTY fish
10. Met and/or fished with more of the NCKA members

This year has been very rewarding and very fulfilling,
however a lot of the joy has been lost with a few former members vowing to never return.
These few are very important to this group and many may never know the great contributions they have made to this sport.
I for one will miss them dearly

Hmm, My goals were not that great.

I was hoping to get out more, I did a few times.  If I were in the ATOY comp I would have sole possession of last place with 0 California fish, 0 Montana fish  and 1 small mouth bass in Rhode Island for my years totals.  If that were based solely on numbers it would really suck.

I got to hang with another Storm, Stormtroper out Delvalle and have reinforced that place can get pretty damn cold in March.  I fished the Brisbane tubes once this year by myself, got out with EWB and we cleaned up a small area of Foster City.  I also kayaked/fished Consumnes.  Went up to Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park and I fly fished in a mountain lake, and broke out the legendary Popiels pocket fisherman in the King River where I had multiple hits but no landing of of some wild trout.  My trip to Montana, while technically not a fishing trip , did allow a two hour window to break out the Popiels and try my luck on a small river for some wild trout.  My trip to RI let me spend some quality time with my Brother in Law and I caught the only fish, the temp & Barometer had plunged yet the sun was out and we had a good time.  I have seen some breath taking views, hiked some great trails, paddled a few interesting places, lost some tackle and an anchor.  But have some great memories of 2009.

I am still on the hunt for a left handed Squidder, and may have tracked down a couple.

I did get to go to the AOTY award ceremony, met some great guys, so some interesting Man Vehicles.  Saw Mooch several times and got to know him and BS with him, I hate seeing him, go but Alaska calls and you might as well do it while your young enough to do it.
