Kris and I met up with John this morning to find conditions very sloppy. Probably the worse ive ever seen it. So we rigged the yaks and launched into it.After reaching our destination we beached ourselves and continued to rig up.The water was cold and vis was about five feet. After getting bashed by the waves trying to re launch we found our spot in around fifteen foot of water. We decided that we were going to go for it after knowing the water wasnt very clear. John jumped in the water and started to get use to the felling. In my opinion he did great. After swimming around for A few minutes I located some fish, and shot three before calling it A day. It was pretty friggin cold. I saw A nice ling sunbathing on some rocks, but deciced not to shoot. I couldnt tell if it was legal or not, really close. After riding some hudge swells back to the launch we said our good byes and put another notch in my belt! Had A fun day with some great company, it was great swimming with my son and my new freind........Andy

Way to get out there, great times with the kid.

Very nice turquoise flame job on the yak and I like the wood spear gun.  Show us a few more pics of your yak and the wood gun.

Thank you

Thx! Andy for taking me out diving today.  Got to hang out with 2 very cool guys and pick up some pointers.  Overall a very enjoyable day.  I took my speargun, but it stayed in the hatch.  As others have advised in another post, I just got comfortable in the water and acclimated.
After the dive, Andy offered me a beer and even gave me his fish... what a generous teacher!  Either that, or he felt sorry for me flapping around the water all day.   :smt003  If I hadn't been causing all the ruckus and scaring away fish, Andy probably would have caught more fish!  Anyway, had a great learning experience, and looking forward to my second dive... now only if I could get rid of the eardrum pressure thing...

WTG guys.

It only costs $0.65 to pop a coke and have it warm up your wetsuit about 20 mins later
