Post is a week old or so, but had to share the fun...

Buddy with a bass boat was kind enough to get me out on the Delta for the morning, on a beautiful sunny weekday. Fishing wasn't wide open, but we each caught seven or eight schoolie stripers, plus one good fish, Boga'd at thirteen plus. That would be my first ever freshwater striper, and plenty fun on the light gear. We fished rip baits after chasing telltale birds, but no busting topwater action that day. I also caught a nice largemouth, maybe three to four pound class, with the same technique.

The cool thing about the largemouth was he came to the boat with a ten pound striper shadowing him, waiting for that rip bait to fall out. Side by side predators, doing their thing. Largemouth went back safe, striper was less fortunate, ended up on my grill. Totally kayak feasible fishing.

Always willing to join others in the Monterey/Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay area for a bit of fishing...feel free to contact me.

Nice bassin Paul.
But I wouldn't call a Delta bassboat "the dark side." More like the sparkly-bright side w/colorful stickers.
