Scupper Carts are still the easiest way to move a kayak around. The things to remember are...

Correct cart that fully inserts and goes clear into the cockpit  / deck. This insures that the loads are on horizontal surfaces of the deck and hull bottom and not the scupper tube.

Be sure the cart stays inserted and doesn't bounce out.

This is why we made the cart posts longer (Primarily for the new Pro Angler) and came up with the "Keeper Pin".

We also added the "Cart Clamps" to better distribute the loads on the hull bottom. The loads are on the pad and the bottom of the scuppers now. Not just denting the hull bottom.

Have you followed up on your purchase?  It sounds like your order may have been misplaced and you could be in for a long wait.

Fyi... there is plenty of stock on hand at Hobie of these carts. We received the new versions in October. No back orders.

I wonder what size wheels.

they are 24cm, a new wheeleez size.  i saw them and they are smaller than the beach tires, but have no experience with them.

wheeleez also sells the kayak cart mini now with these smaller wheels for $139

I just bought a pair of Cart Clamps at CCK for 10 bucks to attach to my cart, looks like its worth very penny.

The day is finally at hand.  John at Windtoys reports that my new Outback should be in hand tomorrow and the he personally is going to take the rigging off of my old hull and install all the accessories on the new one.  He says I should be able to pick it up tomorrow afternoon!  It has been two months since my last ride on my Outback (have used Lisa's Revo though) and I am really excited.  I hate fishing without a fish finder!   I look forward to being on the water for the next dino hunt!  J

Glad to hear the good news!  The next Dino hunt is coming this Sunday.  Check Jay's post in hookups.

I need to clearify something I said about the Trax 2 being in stock and not back ordered.

Wind Toys ordered the new cart for you... we shipped only a frame and left out the wheels in the initial order. They were under the impression it was back ordered and we didn't realize the tires didn't go. So there it sat.

They straightened that out with us now, so you should have a hull and new cart for it. Be sure to use that new cart keeper pin to keep the cart inserted!

That cart keep pin is a GREAT idea, and I commend you all for engineering something so quickly that should aid in helping actually get out kayaks to the water!  I appreciate that you have stood beind your product so well.
