I think the Cen Coast took the brunt of that storm. Over 21" from 5am to 5am at one of the south Sur ridges. That's alotta watta!

we logged nearly 7" on the gauge...crazy for 8-10 hour storm.  I see the woodacre gauge got nearly 6".

I keep thinking of an inch an hour-- and an inch of rain is roughly a foot of pow-pow...a foot an hour!!!

on the good side the water is already clearing down at China Camp...and the creeks are nearly clear, so should be back to striper time soon

It rained so hard at my house in Felton, so much so that the water flowing out of the downspout into my rain water collection tank backed up!  The tank was so full, and so much water was trying to enter, the overfill on the tank was not large enough for the volume of water entering! :smt012  Slight miscalculation on my part.   Although I did add a 20' section of 1.5" tubing to the 2" overfill pipe to extend the overfill pipe out and away from the house.  Thinking about it now, it's possible the reduction at the tubing I added was the cause of the back up, when I discovered the backing up, the storm was in full effect and I wasn't going to deal with it just then.

I must have been distracted :smt044.
I'm glad to see this sunny weather for a week to dry the interior out!

Sean - put a dehumidifier in your truck or you may have a musty mess on your hands soon!

Troy - a video or pics of your rainwater collection tank and system would be much appreciated (good job!).

Very impressive setup, Troy.  In September I took a class that dealt largely with LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) - your system would be worth some points toward certification.  Also, the issue of pumping water out of the creeks and streams up here in my neck of the woods (and everywhere for that matter) is getting bigger and bigger as time goes by.  Systems such as yours are excellent examples of what we can and should do to maximize the use of rainwater and minimize that pumping.  Bravo.   :smt001

yeah we got hammered down here but it was isolated places and strange how wide the gaps were from small town to small town
San Marcos Pass - 10.65"
Parts of San Luis Obispo reported up to 7"
Paso Robles - 3.60

The news says that Hayward got less then three inches but when i was driving to college on Tuesday morning there was cars sliding down the hill at me. That was the scariest three inches of my life.
