Right on, Andy and Kris!  You guys are going to rule the Cove next year with the diving skills.   :smt001

Al's pic of Andy and his smile coming up with that speared grassy is priceless!

Nice shot of the fish Andy. Glad to see Chris being part of it all too. BTW, what was your average shooting range on all the fish you shot? One more thing, I miss
your cooking bro.

Sorry for the late addition...

Had a great time out there saturday. I caught a mixed bag of 3 nice coppers, one smallish gopher that couldn't release, a nice black and another treefish that will make some nice tacos. Speaking of which....

Andy cooked a mean fry on the beach as usual and we all caught some fish, not the best bite for SWS, but still better than most places.

Never have a bad day on the water when with this crew..

It was nice to get out on the water with you all again. It was a little cold especially my feet, need thicker booties. I got about 15 small gophers, kept  the 3 that didn't make it back down, a brown and a nice red cabbie.
Thanks for the shore lunch Andy.  Bridesmades, propane hose fires and beer. Good times!

Talk about adrenaline pumping action! We are all standing around the fryer looking out to sea when all of A sudden Rob looks over @ me non schalontly and says hey Andy your hose is on fire! WTF??? Youve never seen me move so fast!! :smt044... Got the blood boiling for sure! I didnt mind the sandy chicken. Did any of you?

Way to Go Spearing the target! Looks like everyone had fun. :smt001
I wouldn't go so far as to call a lingcod filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a lingcod's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Hmm well, the chicken was freaking great! There was  good hand full of sand in there, but actually the hot fryer broke the sand down a bit, i found that the deep fried sand was actually light and crispy ( not hard and crunchy), i have to admit, i enjoyed the deep fried sand on the chicken, added a little extra light crunch, good stuff.

You bastards never told me the chicken was in the sand lol....guess that's what I get for staying out late. I had like 4 pieces! And I thought that breading seemed kinda crunchy.... :smt044
Fishing was slow for me and hamachijohn. It was his 1st time kayak fishing the ocean so I hoped to put him on some fish but they didn't cooperate. Great to meet you Jonathan!
I caught 12-14 fish but all were under 15" and no reds or lings. Even though I was banging huge lures all day for Lingrande. I think I lost my mojo by keeping the last 2 bigguns...so I'm granting a pardon for all the big mamas (guess they didn't get the memo). Oh well, at least we had flat calm conditions w/about 3-4ft WNW and 3-6kt breeze.
Hanging out on the beach with the crew was the highlight, like always. We BBQ, deep-fried, and chilled on the beach for a few hours afterward.
No wait, the highlight this time was hearing how stoked Andy was about spearing fish with Kristopher! That was pretty cool.

Flat enough to ski.

Only little olives today.

Couple nice kelp rockfish realeased.

Overly ambitious black that inhaled a megabait treble and had to go home for dinner.

Ingesting some sand will help keep you regular.   :smt005  Seriously, though, those fried fish look really good.  did you scale them first?

Looks like a really nice day out.  Glad you guys snuck one in there before the weather kicked in.
