West Marine - Excellent Customer Service and Warranty

Tend to hear a lot of complaints on this blog so here is some good news....

Bought a West Marine VHF 150 last July at the Alameda store. Went swimming/surfing  :surfabout 6 times and it stopped working 2 weeks ago. Took it back to the store and didn't have the receipt. After 45 minutes of searching their sales records, they found my purchase and gave me a new radio.  They could have denied the replacement because I didn't have the receipt. Pretty amazing service IMHO. A 3 year warranty is also pretty amazing which includes water damage.

I purchased a FF w/ extended warranty.  Broke some pins on the back of the FF, brought it in, they gave me a new one.

 people can do. it's starting to short out at the connections, it's been a little over a year and bought the extended warranty...

will post results....  But I expect it to be a Problem Free Transaction....

Kidding aside, that is great news because I was debating on a new VHF and this make my decision much easier.
