Nice guys!  A multi-day kayak camping, steelhead fishing trip on a primed north coast river would be like heaven.

were you guys able to camp"where ever?"

Not sure if it was truly OK, but thats what we did.  We found what we looking and set up on the nearest gravel bar.  No one said anything, but there were a lot of eyes in the riparian zone at times that were lighting up in my headlamp...kinda creepy, kinda cool.

Not animals I'm guessing!  Either way, a little freaky.

They were some kind of little critter, I am guessing racoons.  They would be at waterline and then as we'd get close the eyeshine would go up into the trees.

Jim, NC=North Coast?
The only difference in a north coast trip would be the weather, rain especially. Better have a good tent! I'm rarin' 'to go!
Sean, how come you didn't tell me we were being watched? I never noticed them. I expected them though, the trout remains must have smelled like heaven to them.
All I noticed were the frogs...
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

was thinking of doing that along my stretch of coast. It would be threw a remote part of the coast and un marked land for the most part except for the fact it is closed for about 3 and then opens back up my total distance would be 13miles so only miles a day so plenty of time to fish along the way, and would be down hill... But you guys did it good look forward to ur further reports.

Its a Thermette.  We had a long thread going last year in the Gearing Up board I believe.  I love it.  I sued it to cook my lunch on the river yesterday.
