That is sick. I love kayak camping. An over night boat-in camping trip in Tomales is still one of my favorite experiences.

Thanks for sharing.

Would a T13 be too big for that run?

A T-13 would be fine.  Juan did great in his Quest, but it was easier in the T-11 when it got tight.

That type trip is something I'm looking forward to. Is a Revo too much for something like that or should I be looking for bigger water?

Don't want to sound like some sort of wine snob but eating trout with Zin is a faux pas.
The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday!

My neighbors own Husch, and the zin was a left-over from from a fish fry.  If the guy who makes it brought it to a fish fry...its official enough for me.   All I know is it was delicious!  Had the trout been less cooperative I would have gladly drank it with the cup of soup I had for back-up.  That would have been a REAL tragedy.

As far as yaks go a Revo would be fine, but bring a paddle and leave the drive at home.

Well done and thanks for reporting. Very nice float trip. Most people go to BC or Alaska to do them and you have shown it can be done right here. That's when the shorter boats like the T-11 and T-13 shine but OK made enough capacity in them to do it as you've shown. Bringing a T-15 would be like bringing a surf rod to fish Rush Creek. Very nicely done and reported. those Stripers were incredible and to imagine getting one of those on in the dark. I cannot stop thinking about now.

In a similar vein, wife and I did a kayak-in camp out at Del Valle during a BCU training a few years ago in the Fall. Closed deck boats and no fishing gear--and of course Stripers were boiling all over the lake as we paddled up under the moonlight. If I ever do that again, it will be in a fishing kayak and I'll be ready.

Sean,

ripping report. Have been loving my Prowler 13 that Terry and Kim surprised me with in your garage last Dec. on my B-day. Have also been wanting to load mine up with overnight gear and paddling up the coast in search of giant abalone. You've now inspired me to get on it.

That's pure!!!

Took the words right out of my head!

That's exactly the sort of thing I had in mind when I first started thinking "kayak"...  That looks and sounds like a total, complete, non-stop-smiling blast of a good time.
