Too much gourmet food in the wine country, so had to get away on the yak and burn some (calories).  Rode the incoming up 3 or 4 miles from the public launch near the mouth of the Napa River.  Caught one baby striper on the troll and continued up to an opening on the west bank and went up into it.  Pulled yak up on the bank and answered the phone while throwing chovie chunks.  Hooked up a couple of 24 inchers and a few more diaper dandies and then headed back down river at slack tide.  Great day for weather and at least there were a few fish in the area!

Glad you catched some Stripers.  I was scouting the area around Mare Island last weekend and didn't get any bite!  Thanks for the report and great pictures.

I am sure there are plenty of people here that enjoy burning (calories :smt002) on their kayaks!  Not sure what the Mare Island Launch on Sunday is but tell me more? I was bummed to see the big ship under water, can't help but wonder what lovely chemicals hit the bay from that!

Fellow St. Helena kayak fisherman, what are the chances?  Send me a message and we will hook up.  Might try to get out somewhere on Sunday?

Danglin, I think the boat can be had for a steal, make an offer!  I am sure you can put a few balloons in it, float it, dust it off a bit and voila, a mother ship is born!  Hope you have lots of mad skills in marine enginering!
