Final Roll Call for Mare Island & Vallejo hookups on Sun 8/30

Anyone interested in Sturgeon/Striper fishing around Mare Island area in late August?  If we got enough people, I can ask my friend to use his private property for parking/launching.

He also owned the coffee shop next to the gas station that open at 5am daily so we can get our "shot" before heading out.

Not sure if I can make the date but I will if I can. I was stationed on Mare Island for 4 years before it closed. There is a pier on the northwest end of the island that we used to fish several days a week. Caught myself many a sturgeon and even more stripers off that pier. In the spring, it was also good for leopard sharks.

Actually no. I just looked at Google maps (satellite vie) and matched up the parking lot area. Then clicked on street view and saw the station....I know kinda creppy. I used to work at Google for 5 years so use all the tools they got. It looks like a blast. I am sure we can get a posse together. I am sure he could use the gas, coffee and food money we'll spend there.

I caught many big Stripers there at night in Summer time.  Heard lots of stories about HUGE Sturgeons caught around that area.
