Just so you all know, 2 years ago (last time the tuna came into reasonable range) the big Party Boats outta Berleley were cramming 25 prople onboard @ $300ea. The difference between 25 and 5 guys onboard is like soaking Power Bait on the bank at Chabot vs Drifting a North Coast river and catching Steelhead!

Good news on the toooona front. I heard that the weather is really shaping up for a good tuna run this wknd. Jumpers sighted within 35 miles of Monterey. Heard 16 were caught at the 21/47 line. Also heard 35 fish from 19/37 out to 16/43 (by 1pm).

Just got off the phone with Gerry ... the fleet found the albies 35 miles from port.  Some scored in the 30's.  Now if the weather will only cooperate.

Reminder: this auction closes tonight at midnight.

I heard Pistolero (the 6-pack charter out of Monterey) got 42 alberts and one bluefin yesterday.
Couldn't have had better timing for this trip. Save me some steaks.... :smt007

We could have had better timing.  The updated forecast this afternoon all but blows us off the water.  So we're changing it up and will be fishing inshore tomorrow.  We have one spot for $125 if anyone wants to join us.  Drop me a PM if interested.

And yes, Pistolero whacked them.

Yes, we got blown out for tuna.  The guys decided we wanted to fish butts and not make the long run north in growing seas just for rockfish.  Started the day fishing the flats out front of Wilder.  Nothing home up there.  Picked out way back down near natural bridges (what's that bay called there?).  Tom struck first with a 23# flattie.  Ended the day at Blacks as the wind continued to grow.  Tim stuck a 31# flattie.

Good day on the water with a good crew.  Now ... when we going back out to take revenge on the albies?

Allen and I ... we be skunked!!!
