Sturgeon Derby @ McNears Beach Park, Feb 6th

Is there a sign up for this event or is it a show and go?  Sounds fun!

In my  back yard , Im in.It was nice to meet you @ blk pnt a couple of months  back.Thanx for  going  through it all to hook us  up.Ok fellas and gals, lets get a flotilla  of us  outthere.Theres been Dinos caught around there for the last 3 weeks.See ya @ my secret spot

So im curious of one thing,do we get  ready on beach and wait till 8 or do we paddle out before and start fishing @ 8? , Thanx, Gabe.

All right guys, it's the final countdown, we have a couple rod/reel combos to give away and I think I have a couple year passes also. I'll be there early,

shooting for6-6:30 a.m to open the gate so folks can get geared up and ready to go for the 8 a.m start. It will be a mass send off at all at once at 8 a.m. If you are

catch and release bring a waterproof camera and have something to measure the fish by for the photo. The other class is biggest fish inside DFG regulations, small

fish and fish over the window do not count but maybe will have a special award for the largest fish overall if you can handle it safely for a picture with some sort of

measure on it, (help from a fellow yaker ?) I'll have the Park power boat on the water for any emergencies and ? See everyone on saturday,

Well, the weather is going to be wet for tomorrows derby but it is still a go, I looked at the latest NOAA

advisories and we are good as far as small craft warnings go, none for San Pablo or San Francisco Bays

just out along the coastal waters. Forecasters are calling for about 1/2 an inch of rain on Saturday at 70%

chance. Dress warm, dont forget your PFD's and if you have radios I suggest you bring them. We will have a hot

lunch waiting for you guys when you get off the water, Dogs and Burgers, chili, and some drinks. Remember we

have hot water showers at McNears Beach Park.
