Well I couldn't go until Monday, but after seeing all the FAC water all weekend I was hoping for one more morning of it... Not to be. The sheep hurd was out by 9:30 and we didn't get on the water till 9, so we fought the winds all morning. The swells were still down, but the wind waves were building and starting to get a little pushy. Got bitch slapped by several coming over the sides. Finally decided to pack it in around noon. Certainly not a day for newbies. Had to keep one eye on the waves at all times. One must never underestimate the ocean. We caught several smaller rockies and a few under lings. I kept one cappy for dinner. Wasn't even worth taking any pics  :smt012. Missed the good times by one day... Hopefully next time I'll have a little better timing.

Sorry you missed the FAC water by one day.  Fighting the wind on a yak is not fun even in the bay or lakes.  Thank you for your report.

Glyn, you must have been really joneszn to get out! I woke up early this morning and listened to the bouy reports, Bodega was already blowing around 20 kts. I then rolled over and went back to sleep. Like you said though, the swell was still small yet spaced close together.
Let's hope it lays down for Albion. I can't wait.

It's tough to hang in there when the wind's blowing that hard. Especialy if your not catching any sizable fish... Yeah, Juan it was my first oportunity to hit the ocean this year. Been layed up, chomin' at the bit, so I was Jonesin' big time. I hope Albion is nice. Always a crap shoot when you plan something that far in advance...

I have a newbie question for you guys.  What do you use to forcast conditions?   What sites have good swell and wind forcasts?

This one is my favorite: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mtr/
It is an interactive map that provides site-specific forecasts. So you can get an accurate marine forecast of the exact location you plan to fish (instead of a blanket forecast that covers 30 miles of shoreline out to 10 miles etc etc). It has been pretty accurate for me.
