^^^^disregard my last post, I'm seeing the fishing reports now (for some odd reason they weren't there earlier).  But I still stand by my point.  Thanks.

JTF made me think. I think I could try to up the quality of my posts.
I, for one, like to read the reports for entertainment... mostly. Don't get me wrong, I occasionally do get something usefull from a report, but if tomorrow I didn't have a computer, or was denied access, I'd continue fishing and hooking fish.
I value the connections I've made with like minded people. I like spending time with these guys, you know who you are. I met you all here first. I look forward to knowing more as well.
Right or wrong, I am hesitant to divulge too much in any manner. I figured it out by myself, why should I give up that info, especially to the masses, most who I haven't even fished with before?
I am doing my best to go with the flow.
Keep on truckin' Bill, (and company)!
another well stated opinion i agree with.....i knew nothing of fishing for anything other than planted trout from shore......chased old reports around the bayshores for an occasional fish of substance, but far and few inbetween.
I swear!! if I hadn't seen SCAllen at a F.Hall show(I WANT THAT!) I'd be into kite-flying by now(out of frustration)
I found NCKA and was welcomed like a BROTHERfromVARIOUSmothers!!
The Reports got me pumped and confident I COULD DO IT ALL TOO!, so times have changed and needing to participate is now a better option and will PRESERVE what little areas WE as KayakAnglers have left.
My Real_Opinion!!  worth less than 2cents.

I have been a forum for a year.  Before that i would drop by and check things out.  Yes 10 post is not much but that is all I have.  it was not pretty today not finding the reports.  I do not post in other areas due to the lack of my knowledge and the amount of knowledge already posted.  I got a radio for safety on recommendations of the forum.  Mostly by comments in the fishing report.  I will just have to ask questions about gear or misc items to build a count instead of using the search feature.

I find this a good forum for info and enjoy reading the fishing report.  I moved up here in 1983 and have been diving and fishing off and on the whole time.  Most of the areas talked about north of SF I have either dove or fished and it brings back fond times.

so I will wait until The FR shows up and add comments or easy to answer questions.

should be 11 now.

Great move Bill.  I just looked at the members pages and saw that there are 28 something pages of people with 10 posts or less!

And, the reason my fishing reports dwindled over the last few years...... well, maybe because of all the needy fishing reports out there.  I honestly want to know what happened to quality fishing reports that included line test, hook sizes, weight, type of lure(not color) and tides?  You don't have to share the lure with me, but really now, I could care less about all the glamour pics of you with your fish.  A few pics is enough, but 10 or more of the same fish is rediculous.  Glamour pics??  I've had a few myself.  Jeeesh.

Personally, I like a good fish story.  I could care less about the specific equipment being used.  I want to feel what the teller is feeling, I want to experience what they're experiencing, I want to see what they're seeing.  To me, that's what makes a good fish report.  Glamour pics?  Well let me see a few.  I want to see that big smile, the joy in being out on the water, the triump of the catch.

I hear ya dude, I like to read about the experience too, I hope no one takes my post personally, I myself have posted a few glamour reports before.  Honestly, I'm into the geek aspect of fishing more than you can know.   And of course, pics are documentation.

I remember the first time I went to the honey hole with the OG's 4 or 5 years ago and ole Hana' Pa was slaying it in 4' of water using 12 or 15lb test.   Joel hooked into a large leopard shark and yak'd (boated)it, then released it only to hook into another big fish(never seen) and have his line snap.  All these details were in the report that day.  It was epic out there.  OG Kunz slammed a 71 3/4" sturgeon, Chuck limited with two near 10 lb stripers, it was a great fishing report that followed.  Rough conditions, paddling back through mud, a big spot of water with only kayak fisherman on it, and making it happen.  This report got me hooked on this site.  Here here!

hey I haven't posted a fishing report in almost 2 years, I guess that makes me a leach too

maybe this week or next I can be redeemed

Whatever dude!  Your salmon reports were always read and appreciated by alot of us.  OG stuff.

Well, this move is what made me finally get a login.  I've been lurking & meaning to join for a little while, but didn't have anything to say (yet).

Lurking and reading NCKA is what made me get a kayak.  To a fisherman who didn't know about kayak fishing, it looked pretty great.  I've just started to try the kayak out in some freshwater lakes, but I look forward to fishing the salt with some of you guys.

I can see all the reasons to hide them--seems like a necessary move--but without the fishing reports I don't know if I would have caught the kayak excitement.  Maybe they could be set up so that reports are visible to all after they are a month old?  It would help keep spots from being overwhelmed while they're hot, but give people like me enough fish porn to spread the madness.

Nice, I had a smile just reading the shortened version  :smt001.
