I left the house at 4:30 am and made to the cove by 6:30. The ocean was flat and I was alone at the launch. They had a hell of a party the night before so I didnt expect to see anyone soon.

I started fishing in 40 t0 50 FOW over some good looking marks on the FF and hooked up on some nice blacks.

Then I looked up and I see a kayak in the distance. It was Fishinmike. We fished for a while then moved in to shallower water in front of the hotels and did really well on rockies. No love from the lings though. :smt009

It was really nice to fish with Mike and I hope to do so again later in the week.

Here are some pics.

Tight lines and have fun.

Good eye, I was wondering if someone would catch that.

It measured 16.25 on the gurney. I couldnt belive it was a blue.

How goes it Dom? Thanks for the report bro. Boy, that water looks calm.
I wish it was that way last time we came up for the GSIII. I love that
place.
Mike, WTG on the vermilion bro. That is what I was after on our last day
there. Instead, I caught an octopus. :smt003

Nice! Was hoping you'd be able to join us on the 4th. I couldn't fish Sunday because we had plans to sit in bumper2bumper traffic in the north bay for hours on end. But still good to see brothers taking advantage of the flat water. Even if I was busy catching a limit of traffic.

We are going to get along just fine.  Although, I see that I need to introduce some smilies to the board.

Also, that blue is a beautiful fish, and I nominate it for pic of the week.  Although abking's copper is probably going to win that category, which is regrettable since both are worthy.
