Fished "the spot" last weekend, with a newbie who had a great time.  We worked the outside kelp for some nice reds.  This was my stringer.  I decided to smoke them, and it worked out pretty good.  24 hours in a marinade of brown sugar, soy, olive oil and garlic salt, then slow cooked on the grill.   MMMM fishy goodness!!!!

Is that the spot where you have to take your kayak under Hwy1 through a storm drain? Haven't fished it in years... Awesome fishing down there!. I took a beating landing through the rock garden at low tide back in '99 and haven't fished it since then.
Livin tha pirates life full time! Catchin big cbass in tha kelp all summer long Have fun, live well, conserve the resource, and ask me about my secret fishing spots. but I probably won't tell you, cuz their secret!
