Met up with Jay-D from the club and hit up Stillwater with outstanding conditions. We fished hard from 7-2:30 and ended up with a ling each and several rockfish. We lost several lings and had plenty of hard take downs throughout the day. We were visited by the boys in green DFG in there stealth Grey Zodiak and had our licenses and fish inspected, nice guys and armed to the T with their tactical holsters and Glocks at the ready. They informed Jay that all vessels fishing for any fish that required measurement must have a legal net on-board or could be cited, but let him off with a warning. We both caught the lings on the outside of the kelp in about 50-70' of water on swim baits. By the way my homemade butter knife jigs were definitely the ticket as the pictures will show. Cheers Mike

Nice job... Good pics. I think the water is warming? DFG, I agree with you, at least locally, they're good guys doing a tough and important job. They deserve our respect, just as we expect the same in return.

Great report and pics...Love the homemade butter knife jig, and just to think I have been spending all that money buying tackle when the butter knifes are just sitting in the drawer ready for modification.  :smt044
