I decided to go on Tuesday instead of Monday because I hoped conditions could only get better.

They were.

The weather inland was in the low 90's (Redway/Garberville), so I figured it was going to be pretty decent at the coast.

I got down to the camp ground and it was 83! I have never had the sun heat my wet suit when in the water.

Anyway, the vis was great, about 12 ft.  Which is good for that area.

I shopped around for some snails and popped 2 nice ones to take down to Hangtown on Friday. Gonna work on my mother in laws house, and ab is a treat.

Hey Tote, PM if you are up and around. I would like to meet you. :smt006 I will be in town Fri-Sun.

On the way in I had my spear handy as there were alot of fish. I managed to bag a nice cabazone and saw a cute little ling that might have been over 12 in and another smaller cab that was almost white. I took a pic of it but it let me get so close it was out of focus. I did manage another shot as it took off in front of me and some perch too. (pics)

All I have is one of those little GO PRO cameras. They are OK but they sure eat the batteries.

On the way down to the Cove, I shot some video that I hope will be helpful for some who are traveling long distance. More on that later...

I can feel the Madness welling up from within. :smt002

You are right. 12 feet is a decent day. Those are some nice shots. It's what it really looks like on an average north coast day. Have a good time in Placerville. Say hi to Tote if you see him. Craig

Hey, thanks for the report and pics, I haven't been on or in the water since Nov. and it's killing me, soon tho,,,
Just seeing those underwater shots slows my heart, it's seems to be one of the only places I can really relax,,,

Thanks again,

Dale L
