does anyone have a map showing all the restricted areas this year in the ocean?the regs have all the gps numbers but it would help me alot if anyone had a map with maybe hilighted restricted areas. Please help !!! this is getting hard to know where i can and cant fish.

Doesn't get any easier than that.  You can program the coordinates in your GPS, but if you don't have one you're stuck with printing & laminating maps from the links Dale sent.  I'd just be really careful fishing close to the areas w/o GPS..."I think I'm clear" could earn you a nice fine.

The North Central Coast section decision process is in a mess right now with several issues around funding being brought up and fought over, current timing I believe is a decision no earlier than August which I think would put an implementation date very late in 09 or early 2010.

The 2 links above covers all MPAs in effect at the moment.

There will be no new rules for 09.  At least one more year without MLPA in the NCC.

The South Cen Coast MPAs were enacted Sept of 07 (I think the press release came out in July). So I wouldn't be surprised if the Dep't decided to enforce the North Cen Coast MPAs this fall. But I defer to SBD on this one, obviously.

Thanks those maps will help alot. I have a gps but i still like to look at a map as well ,it makes the area more clear to me. thanks for the help guys
