Dab N Crab Combo..Monterey

Ok so the plan is to hit Monterey Bay on Sat morn 7th and launch out of MBK to drop the crab pod then shoot over towards the red buoy for some yummy little dabs...Anyone intereted? I need some water time...P.S I will be prepared with A shore deep fry!!! ...Andy

sound like fun but the Alien yak is in need of some maintenance so it probably a couple of weeks be for I could get out and do some dabbing.  Will be out perching near the Salinas River on Saturday.

Andy, this sounds very tempting... only thing is, this Saturday is the last day of local steelheading. And on top of that, if we have no rain between now and then the rivers should be clearing up(fishable) just in time. Wow, you've got me seriously debating these options . I don't know if you remember, but I'm pretty sure I ran into you at PJR last December. You guys inspired me to join NCKA! Anyways, if I don't make it I hope you guys dent the local sanddab population. I have a tip for you guys, use heavy weights(maybe 5-8 oz. or so) in order to get to the bottom quickly, otherwise you might have trouble keeping mackerel off your hooks. I ran into this problem a couple weeks ago last time I went dabbing. Don't get me wrong, I like mackerel but I like sanddabs more. Maybe I'll fish Carmel River and swing by afterwards. We'll see what happens, I'm not sure yet.

Man you're killin me. I gotta work Sat. And its the last day of steelhead season too, like calbear metioned. So bummed.
Good luck this wknd. But make sure to drop down a live sardine if you get one...never know what you'll get.
