Im thinking about going out in Monterey on Sunday 25th if the weather is not to bad. It would be nice to get out on the water and try fishing for sand dabs. Looking for advice on how to catch em. I hear out past the red bouy is a good place to start. Curious ....I believe fishing for sand dabs is open all year?

Hey Hoppy how the heck are you? I would enjoy fishing with you again but dont think im going to make it on the water this weekend!!! Fish right before the red buoy. almost in line with the  Aquirium in about 120 foot of water...Use the largest sabiki jigs you could find, tip with sqiud drop to the bottom and enjoy!!!!Damn I want me some sand dabs!!! :smt012

Yup, dabs are open all year. Try the area NE of the red bouy. A sabiki (I cut it in down to 4 hooks to minimize tangles) tipped w/squid bits works great. Just drag it across the bottom and you'll get some.
Good Luck!
