I bought my new humminbird 565. Looked at the transducer, thought about SBD's post on his trident and e-mailed humminbird as to how to make the exchange. I was notified the next day By a woman named Deborah that all I had to do was send the transducer back to humminbird in Alabama for an even exchange. No money involved. I saw reports that people were being charged 30 bucks in one case for the trade. I don't know if you traded through wherever you purchased the unit. Then they charged you for the exchange but apparently this is not true. I checked twice to assure myself before dropping it in the mail. I just thought some people would like to know. Craig

Yeah, that's great news. I need to get a new Humminbird FF for my P13. Been looking at the 500 series too. But I thought we had to exchange the standard 'ducer for the scupper-mount 'ducer and pay the difference, like 40 bucks..?? But if its FREE....well, time to go shoppin!
