Met up with some friends (first time Kayaking) at 4:00am in Fresno.
Arrived at Carmel (stillwater) at approx 7:00 to find there was going to be a Tourn. that day.
As the newbies and I were getting ready to launch we met Ernie, ifj, Diroblo, and i think it was find that fish (sorry if i got the names wrong) along with a handful of others. After I got the Newbies on the water we spent about an hour letting them get used to the feel of the yak and water, while most of the others went on around the point. When my group had said they felt comfortable in the yaks we moved to deeper water in the north cove and began to fish. Almost immediately Cody began catching fish on a green iron so we all switched to green and were having fun catching a lot of fish. Reports on the outside weren't that great and the wind was pickling up so I figured we would stay inside for the rest of the day when i felt a heavy tug on my line and after a short battle was rewarded with a nice Cabi. After paddling over to show off my prize to Cody and Rick (my Newbies) dropped down again and this time my line went crazy and the battle was on pulled him to withen color and he returned to the bottom three times before the Ling was able to come aboard for a photo opp (note to self - next time heavier gear). In the end it was a great day on the water and a nice farewell to the big blue till next year. It was nice meeting all who showed and I look forward to fishing with you again.

WOW! Thats an awesome ling! Thaks much for showing more people what we do to have fun and encourage sportsmanship and good times. The water looks like it was glass. Epic fish. Thanks for the pics. Craig

Thanks to all the NCKA members,
Without all the knowledge and info I have received from this forum, I would not be able to introduce others to this sport with such confidence.
Here's to NCKA,
