Picked up Sandman at 5:15 and headed to HMB for some crabbing. Got there at 630AM and there was a nasty 20-30 MPH offshore wind. Called SC Xfactor and Sackyak who were coming up from Monterey and told them that HMB was blown out so we headed back to Pigeon Point which was the only decent launch on the San Mateo coast. The wind eventually laid down but there were some big swells. Gary and I stayed in 50-60 FOW and dropped traps then fished off the point. Ken and Etienne headed south in search of new waters. Ended up with 2 big rock crabs and a large gopher which I released. Caught several under-dungies but not keepers. Etienne hoohed a 30+" ling and one legal dungie. Headed home and stopped by HMB to buy some dungies but there were none for sale.  :smt013 On the brighter side, I cooked the 2 rock crabs and found them to be pretty good eating. Kind of surprised me since most people don't eat them. Turned out to be a nice day on the water after the wind died down.

The conditions look pretty nasty in that lighthouse shot. Why am I not surprised that Etienne caught a ling? Good job guys!

On the way down we took a good look at the Bean and it was NASTY.  Multiple rows of big breaking waves to let you know that the playground was closed for the day.

Always fun to pull traps when the water is rockin and rollin.  I think we found the Dungie nursery because we got robbed big time.  There was a Dungie so small it fit in the tuna can that Scott had in his trap.

For you light house fans, we had to park in the street because they were setting up for the annual lighting of the lighthouse.

Always good to hang out with the NCKA bros and Etienne saved the day with his rockfish and Dungie catch.

My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am.
