Just my luck!  I have been waiting for something like this to come up around here.  On any other day, I would definitely be there.  Unfortunately for me, and the fish  :smt003, I will be packing up on Sat.  I will be posting on a TX website in the future. Yep, I am moving to Houston. I might have trouble with the LMB there, lots of gators!  I might have to switch to saltwater, I think there is a lot of redfish down there.

Good luck to all of you, on the water and otherwise.  I wish I could join you guys on Saturday, it sounds like fun.
Ben

I'm in but have to pass on the camping.  I expect to get there at first light on Sunday morning.  If I miss the mass launch I'll try to hail you NCKA folks on channel 69.

Any advice on gear / bait would be appreciated...all my yakking adventures have been on the salt.

sandman,

from my general striper misadventures you have three main choices when striper fishing
-Trolling - broken back rebels with a worm trailer, rat l traps
-Plugging - casting mainly crankbaits, swimbaits or rat l traps against rip rap banks/cuts/breaks
-Bait - if you anchor (boring), shad, bullhead/mudsuckers, anchovies, if you're drifting live bait works well like jumbo minnows, bluegill or mudsuckers

normally stripers in the delta hold from 6-15ft of water..occasionally deeper but they will also go up towards the bank to feed.

i don't know the stockton area as well as others so I don't know what type of structure is around, but those are the general ideas.

i am probably just going to follow some people around, but I think my fishing style will be the following:

early morning - topwater along rocky banks
late morning - plugging crankbaits
rest of the day - trolling broken back rebels (to get some exercise in!) with occasional plugging if i find an interesting area

I don't think i'll fish bait but i plan to bring some miniature hooks and redworms in case i want to catch some bluegill to drift.

Don't forget to keep your eyes open for surface action (Fish Trap) or on your graph for suspended fish (Spoons).
Good Luck to All,

Anyone from the South Bay headed up to this event ?  I can't make it but wanted to make delivery of PFD to Jeffrm20, who will be there.  Please let me know.  I live in Campbell 95008.

Thanks!

Hey  guys, It's that time on the Delta the stripers or on the prowl.
So I'll be there.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

Can anyone help me out?  I'd drive it to meet anywhere within reasonable mileage of 95008, if you could then drop it off for me.

Thanks!

Martin, just wanted to thank you straight up for the generous offer. If you fail to get it out this way I can always come down and get it. I might be in Cupertino tomorrow delivering some cabinets for my job. Orr we can always arrange a fishing trip down there and we can meet up then too  :smt002

Thanks again

Jeff
