Very Survivorman! (see link below). Even down to the hat and tripod! Looks like fun day that would be hard to explain to people without the video.

Eric - the Survivorman is on another level.  I need beer, and I like that warm truck once I do get all packed up at the end of the trail!  Thank you for the comparison, it's not the first time!   :smt003  In a way I'm on the other end of the spectrum from Survivorman - I take what I need and spend all of my energy in the wilderness, knowing that I have the truck and food to fall back on.  He goes with nothing and conserves his energy, knowing he must show how to get by with nothing.  I think my version is more fun, but he's more of a stud!   :smt002

That is a great walk, although I've never done it w/ a kayak.

Have you ever talked w/ John McAbery. who lives at the cabin before the lighthouse???

Ah, irony - one of the spices of life!   :smt001

Yo, Rustuc, the spot in these videos is north of the Mattole, but, very ironically, I was down toward Punta Gorda late this afternoon.  Yes, I have spoken to one of the residents of that house by Four Mile Creek, and it may have been John.  That's an awesome spot.  I used to camp near the lighthouse annually and hike down further for the morning minus tides at Sealion Gulch.  I have many awesome memories from that area.   :smt001
